Bučan Bučan
Pronounced loudly as "booCHAN booCHAN" this is an ensemble ranging from 8 to 13 musicians inspired by Eastern European brass band traditions. Bučan Bučan puts a modern spin on traditional Balkan music, with spontaneous, theatrical performances that are not to be missed!
I've had the honour of playing with and writing music for this high energy and inspiring group since its conception way back in 2009!
Aidan Knight
I have the honour of stretching outside of my trumpet bubble to play with singer, songwriter Aidan Knight. It is an incredible opportunity to delve deep into the world of synthesizers as well as play trumpet, flugel, cornet, sing, and heck, play anything else I can get my hands on!
Touring, writing, and collaborating with this group of guys is a constant inspiration and simultaneous kick in the ass.
The Half Moon Shine
My newest project is with a group of beautiful women, playing Doo-wop, Country, Americana to melt your heart. Beautifully crafted songs, incredible harmonies, and oh yeah! I'm playing drums! So fun!
This is just a little taste of what I do. I have a solo project called Julia & The Spectacles that re-appears when other projects are quiet and there is time for writing. I also write and arrange music for other projects like an original score I wrote for an amazing puppet show, The Umbrella, by Puente Theatre and The Old Trout Puppet Workshop. I also sing in a beautiful choir led by the incredible Anne Schaefer called The Collective. You should come sing with us.
